Jalapeno Blood Orange Margarita

This fresh and delicious Jalapeno Blood Orange Margarita is a bright, fruity and spicy take on a classic margarita! Serve it with the Tajin seasoning sugar rim for an extra special treat!

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker or mason jar

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh squeezed blood orange juice 
  • 4.5 oz sliver tequila 
  • 1.5 oz agave nectar 
  • 2-3 thin slices of fresh jalapeño
  • the Juice of 1 lime 
  • sliced lime and jalapeño, for garnish 

Tajin Sugar Rim 

  • 1 tablespoon Tajin seasoning 
  • 1 tablespoon cane sugar

Instructions

  • Making the cocktails
    1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle together the jalapeño and agave. 2-3 thin slices of jalapeño is recommended.
    2. Add the lime juice, blood orange juice and tequila to the shaker and shake well.
    3. On a lipped plate, stir together Tajin seasoning and sugar until well combined.
    4. Moisten edges of 2 cocktail glasses with a lime wedge, and dip into Tajin and sugar mixture to rim.
    5. Fill glasses with ice.
    6. Pour cocktail evenly into 2 glasses.
    7. Garnish with lime slice and jalapeño slice, and serve.
