Sauteed Green Beans with Bacon Bits, Peppers and Onion Recipe

- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1 ½ cups thinly sliced bell peppers (about 1 large pepper or 6 mini peppers)
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 2.5 oz bag of real bacon bits (not imitation) (may also use 4 strips bacon, cooked, fat removed)
- 1.5 lbs fresh green beans, washed and trimmed (if needed)
- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ cup Lager style beer (may also use chicken broth)
- ½ cup Crispy Fried Onions, such as French's
In a large skillet or saute pan, heat butter over medium heat until melted. 2. Add sliced bell pepper and diced onion to the pan and cook until onions are softened, and peppers start to sweat, stirring occasionally, 4-5 minutes. 3. Add minced garlic and bacon bits, and cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4. Add trimmed green beans, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and beer. Toss to coat. 5. Cover with a lid and cook 12-14 minutes, stirring occasionally, until green beans are tender and liquid is mostly evaporated. 6. Stir in crispy onions, and garnish top with additional crispy onions, if desired.
