Baked Feta Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz block of Feta cheese
  • 1 cup pitted olives (Kalamata, green, or mixed)
  • ¼ cup jarred roasted red peppers, sliced thinly
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • kosher salt and black pepper, to taste 
  • chopped fresh parsley, for garnish 
  • crusty bread or baguette, for serving 

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the block of feta in the center of a baking dish.
    2. Add the olives and sliced peppers to the dish, arranging around the outside of the feta cheese.
    3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, honey and spices.
    4. Pour the mixture over the feta and olives/peppers.
    5. Season with kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste.
    6. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, uncovered.
    7. Optionally: Broil under your oven's broiler for 2-3 minutes, to form a golden crusty exterior to your feta.
    8. Serve hot with crusty bread or baguette!
