Blackberry Lime Gin Margarita

Ingredients

Cocktail

  • ¼ cup fresh or frozen (thawed) blackberries
  • 2 oz or ¼ cup gin
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup*
  • lime seltzer water*
  • (optional) fresh limes and blackberries, for garnish

Lime Sugar (for rimming glasses)

  • the zest of ½ lime
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Make the lime sugar: Add sugar to a small plate wide enough to dip your glass onto, and zest ½ lime on top. Stir zest and sugar together with a fork to combine.
  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your drinking glass and dip in lime sugar to coat. Set aside.
  • Muddle and mix: Place blackberries in the shaker and cover with 4 lime wedges. Muddle, until berries are mashed and limes are juiced.
  • Add gin and simple syrup to the shaker and shake well.
  • Fill your rimmed glass with ice, and strain mixture over.
  • Top with lime seltzer.
  • Garnish with lime and blackberries and serve!
