Blackberry Lime Gin Margarita

Cocktail
- ¼ cup fresh or frozen (thawed) blackberries
- 2 oz or ¼ cup gin
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup*
- lime seltzer water*
- (optional) fresh limes and blackberries, for garnish
Lime Sugar (for rimming glasses)
- the zest of ½ lime
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
Make the lime sugar: Add sugar to a small plate wide enough to dip your glass onto, and zest ½ lime on top. Stir zest and sugar together with a fork to combine.
Run a lime wedge around the rim of your drinking glass and dip in lime sugar to coat. Set aside.
Muddle and mix: Place blackberries in the shaker and cover with 4 lime wedges. Muddle, until berries are mashed and limes are juiced.
Add gin and simple syrup to the shaker and shake well.
Fill your rimmed glass with ice, and strain mixture over.
Top with lime seltzer.
Garnish with lime and blackberries and serve!
