- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cane sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise pod
- 2 whole cloves
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan, and heat over medium-high heat.
Bring to to a boil, and stir to dissolve sugar.
Once boiling. reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes,
Turn off heat, cool to room temperature and strain. Discard whole spices.
Transfer to airtight container or mason jar and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
