Easy and delicious Mini Sloppy Joe Sliders
A fun take on classic sloppy joes, and an ode to white castle- these cheesy sliders on Hawaiian rolls or slider buns are the perfect party or game day appetizer. Made with Homemade Sloppy Joe Recipe and plenty of Sharp Cheddar, these buttery little bites are always a hit!

Making the Sloppy Joe Mixture
1. Sauté onions and pepper in 1 tablespoon canola oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, until they begin to soften.
2. Move onions and peppers to outer edge of pan and increase heat to medium-high. Spread ground beef out in center of pan in an even layer and cook, undisturbed, for 5 minutes, or until meat begins to brown.
3. Season beef with salt and pepper, and flip over. Continue to cook, breaking meat apart into small pieces as you go with a wooden spoon or spatula, until meat is cooked through and no longer pink, about 2-3 minutes. If there is excess fat, you can drain it off at this point.
4. Reduce heat to medium-low and add in ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce and sugar. Cook 2-3 minutes until flavors are melded.

How to make Sloppy Joe Sliders
1. Cut rolls in half, separating tops and bottoms. Place on a cookie sheet, and place under oven’s broiler on high for 1-3 minutes, until lightly toasted. Transfer to parchment lined sheet, Place sliced cheddar cheese on bottom buns, and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. (This step can be done while cooking your Sloppy Joe mixture).
2. Transfer cooked Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over cheddar cheese and bottom buns, using a slotted spoon leaving any grease and liquid behind.
3. Place on top buns, and brush the tops evenly with melted butter. Sprinkle over an even later of sesame seeds.
4. Bake in preheated oven on parchment lined sheet for 15-20 minutes, until just toasty and cheese is melted.

What kind of buns should I use for the sliders?
I love Kings Hawaiian Slider buns. They are pre-cut and super easy to work with. You can also use 12 ct rolls, but you may need to add a slice or 2 of cheese to even out the length.

Tips for perfect sliders:
- Use lean ground beef for this hamburger sliders recipe, and be sure to drain off any excess fat or liquid before adding the beef to the buns. This will keep your final sandwiches from getting soggy.
- Use thick sliced cheese to build a good layer on the bottom buns. Can't find thick sliced cheddar? Double up on the thin slices.
- Make sure to evenly coat the top buns in melted butter before adding the sesame seeds so they stick well.
- If you can find them, Kings Hawaiian Slider buns are pre-cut and super easy to use!
Finishing touches
If desired, the finished sliders go great with sliced or chopped dill pickles or pickled jalapenos for a bit of freshness and crunch. I like to serve these on the side so you can add as you like.

What to serve with the Sloppy Joe Sliders
They go great with a side of french fries, or as part of any appetizer spread.
Here are some other great sides to go with the sliders:

Storing and reheating leftovers
You can store leftovers (if you have any) tightly wrapped in foil or plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place on a microwave safe plate and cover with a moistened paper towel. Heat on high for 1-2 minutes until warmed through.
