As easy as a crescent roll recipe can be- these Prosciutto fig sandwich roll ups are an impressive little finger food you can make in less than a half hour. They’re a great party food for guests, or just a great simple snack or dinner for a few people. It’s like a little gourmet Italian sadwich that fits in the palm of your hand!

What goes into the prosciutto sandwich crescents?

To make this super simple crescent roll appetizer, you will need:

  • A package of crescent roll dough such as Pillsbury.
  • A bit of butter.
  • Sliced prosciutto.
  • Fresh sage leaves.
  • Fresh figs, or dried figs.
  • Shredded Italian blend cheese.

These little prosciutto sandwiches are super elegant, but also SUPER easy. Just wrap a few ingredients in crescent dough, pop em in the oven- and in under 15 minutes they’re ready to eat!

What if I can’t find fresh figs?

If you can’t find fresh figs, you can substitute the couple of slices of fresh figs that go into each crescent roll for a whole dried fig! The flavor is still delicious! Alternatively, you could also use dried apricots or dates.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz package of crescent roll dough
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 thin slices of prosciutto
  • 8 fresh sage leaves
  • 4 Fresh figs cut, into 4 slices each , (or 8 dried figs)
  • 1/2 cup shredded Italian blend cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    3. Heat butter in a large skillet or nonstick pan over medium-high heat.
    4. Add the prosciutto in a single layer (some minor overlap is OK), and cook until crisp, about 2 minutes per side.
    5. Transfer to a plate to cool.
    6. Add sage leaves to the pan, and cook until crispy, about 1 minute.
    7. Remove to plate with prosciutto to cool enough to handle.
    8. On each crescent roll, lay a slice of prosciutto, a tbsp of cheese, 2 slices of fig, and a fried sage leaf.
    9. Roll to close.
    10. Transfer to parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes, until golden brown.
