This whipped ricotta has got to be one of the easiest elegant appetizer to whip up. It's almost effortless, and comes together in less than a minute in the food processor.
To make the dip, add ricotta, lemon zest, garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper to the bowl of a food processor. Blend/process until smooth - about 30 seconds. Once it's nice and smooth, transfer it to a serving bowl, and top it with honey, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and some finely sliced fresh basil leaves. Add a bunch of fresh basil and a dusting of lemon zest on top if you're feeling fancy, and voila- a delicious appetizer in a few minutes!
What goes into the whipped ricotta recipe?
This super easy whipped ricotta is ready in UNDER ONE minute, with the help of your trusty food processor. To make the creamy, dreamy cheese dip, you will need:
- Whole milk ricotta cheese.
- Fresh grated lemon zest.
- A clove of fresh garlic.
- a touch of extra virgin olive oil.
- Salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste.
What can I serve with the whipped ricotta?

Once the whipped ricotta cheese is ready, you can store it in the fridge for about 4-5 days in the fridge. Just give it a good stir before serving. It's a great make-ahead dip for a party or brunch that you can dress up in a bowl just before guests arrive.

Ingredients
- 16 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
- ¼ teaspoon fresh lemon zest
- 1 clove garlic, peeled
- 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
Toppings
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon thinly sliced fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- 1. Add ricotta, lemon zest, garlic, olive oil and salt and pepper to the bowl of a food processor, and blend until smooth - about 30 seconds. 2. Transfer to s serving bowl, and drizzle the top with honey and lemon juice. 3. Top with basil and serve alongside bread, crudite, crackers or crostini.
