Easy and delicious Fall margaritas
If asked to make a “Top 5 fall favs” list, Apple cider would certainly be on that list. I let my basic flag fly in the fall with all things pumpkin and apple cider. Don’t believe me? Give my Pumpkin Spice Martinis a try!
For these Añejo Apple Cider Margaritas, I combine the deliciously fall flavor of fresh apple cider with a bit of citrus, my special Fall Spiced Simple Syrup, and a healthy dose of good tequila for a well balanced cocktail that’s not too sweet, and hits all the right fall notes.

Making the cocktails
To make these fall inspired margaritas, you will need:
- Apple cider. I like to use the fresh, refrigerated variety of this, which has a much more pronounced apple flavor.
- Good Anejo Tequila. My favorite is Blue Nectar.
- A bit of my super-easy Fall Spiced Simple Syrup.
- The juice of 1 lime and the juice of half a naval orange, to offset all that sweetness from the cider.
- A cinnamon stick or 2, and apple slices, for garnish.
Simply add all the ingredients to a shaker and shake well. our over ice, into a spiced sugar rim, if desired. No fancy liquors or Triple Sec required!
Cinnamon Sugar Rim
To do a Cinnamon Sugar Rim for the glasses, combine sugar and cinnamon with a fork in a shallow bowl, or on a plate. Moisten the rims of 2 cocktail glasses with a lime wedge and dip into the sugar mixture. Fill the glasses with ice.

Garnishing the cocktails
I like to serve these cocktails with a quick and easy spiced sugar rim, a cinnamon stick, and a few thin slices of apple.
You could also garnish them with orange or lime wedges. Or nothing! They’re just as good fuss-free.
Tools for making a great margarita
A good cocktail shaker, or mason jar.
A sharp knife and cutting board.
A shot measure, or shot glass.
A saucepan, for making the Simple Syrup.
