A deliciously easy summer Watermelon Cocktail
Name a fruit more synonymous with summertime than watermelon. There's nothing better than some fresh sliced watermelon, watermelon sherbet, a refreshing watermelon salad, or a cold watermelon beverage to cool off on a hot summer day. And this 4 Ingredient Watermelon Cocktail checks all those cool-off on a summer day boxes.
With only 4 simple ingredients, this drink is great for lazy summer sipping. You can make the cocktail with freshly blended and strained watermelon juice (DELICIOUS), or any of your favorite canned or bottled varieties. It's even great with a sparkling watermelon juice. Add a little bit of Grand Marnier and fresh lime juice to the mix, and you've got a tangy sweet cocktail that's almost too easy to drink!
This drink is delicious with Smirnoff Watermelon vodka, or any of your favorite watermelon flavored vodkas.

What kind of watermelon vodka should I use?
For this recipe, I used Smirnoff Watermelon Vodka. You could use any of your favorite brands of watermelon flavored vodka for this recipe. I've also seen some great infusions with other herbs and flavors added to the vodka with the watermelon, and they sound like great options as well. I would advise against using a plain vodka for this recipe, as some of the flavor for the cocktail comes from the vodka.
Making the 4 Ingredient Watermelon Cocktail
Making this watermelon cocktail could not be easier! Here's how to make it:
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
- Add watermelon vodka, Grand Marnier, the juice of 1 lime, and watermelon juice.
- Shake vigorously until shaker is frosty.
- Pour evenly into 2 chilled Coupe or cocktail glasses.
- Garnish with a wedge of watermelon and a slice of lime.
Tips and suggestions for the watermelon cocktail recipe
Keep everything COLD
Chill your glasses, the vodka and add plenty of ice to your shakers. Keep that juice cold as well! I prefer to have all of the ingredients cold beforehand, to avoid watering down the finished cocktail with extra ice.
Use fresh if you have it
Fresh lime juice is a must for this recipe. The bottled stuff is just too processed and sour. As far as watermelon juice, I say you could go either way. I've had some pretty tasty bottled stuff. Just be careful to get a quality, fresh juice. If you've got the time, cutting up a fresh watermelon, blending it and juicing it can't be beat. But if you're going for easy and fast, bottled is a great option.
